In the summer of 1986, Jimmy and Tully ignite a friendship based on music, films and the rebel spirit. With school over, they rush towards a magical weekend of youthful excess in Manchester played out against the greatest soundtrack ever recorded (The Fall, The Smiths, New Order, etc).
Inevitably, that weekend has a monumental effect on them. Particularly on Tully. As he vows to live a different life from the one laid out before him.
Thirty years on, in the Autumn of 2017, Tully phones Jimmy and gives him some devastating news. He’s dying and he needs Jimmy to do him a favour. For love. And friendship.
This is a request that tests their bond to its limit. It causes rifts with their partners, Anna and Iona, and takes every bit of courage they possess.
