Heralded as a new era for rugby league, every minute of the 2015 First Utility Super League season was meant to matter and it definitely did.
Ryan Hall’s dramatic last gasp try that secured the League Leaders’ Shield for Leeds Rhinos really epitomised the whole year. The introduction of the Super 8s ensured it was competitive to the last, while the possibility of promotion and a return to Super League gave the Championship clubs more than a trophy to play for.
Leeds and Wigan Warriors led the way, but there was little to separate them from Huddersfield Giants and St Helens with all four having the chance to make the Grand Final. While Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Bradford Bulls went head to head to see who would play in Super League in 2016. See every twist and turn from the regular season, through the Super 8s and Qualifiers to the dramatic Play-Off Semi-Finals and Million Pound Game.
Then, on disc two, witness the top two teams, Leeds and Wigan, battle it out in front of a sell-out crowd for the Super League Grand Final trophy.
Joe Burgess’ try gave the Warriors an early advantage, but Danny McGuire helped the Rhinos to a 16-6 lead. Wigan stormed back, with the retiring Matty Bowen edging them in front, but it was youngster Josh Walters who stole the show. His late score gave Leeds and their legendary departing trio, Kylie Leuluai, Jamie Peacock and Kevin Sinfield, an unbelievable send off and a quite incredible treble.
